Interregional Planning Council
Texas Water Code Section 16.052 requires the TWDB to appoint an Interregional Planning Council (Council) composed of one member from each regional water planning group (RWPG) during each five-year state water planning cycle.
The purposes of the Council are to 1) improve coordination among the RWPGs, and between the RWPGs and the TWDB in meeting goals of the state water planning process; 2) facilitate dialogue regarding regional water management strategies; and 3) share operational best practices of the regional water planning process.
Each Council is required to: 1) hold at least one public meeting; and 2) prepare a report to the TWDB on the Council's work.
