Online Water Use Survey

The Online Water Use Survey is closed for the remainder of the year for post processing of data and will re-open at the beginning of the year. The 2023 Water Use Surveys will open January 1, 2024.

If you would like to submit a past-due survey, please use a PDF form and email the complete survey to the Water Use Survey Team.

How to use the Online Survey

Only new users will need to set up a new TWDB account with our login application - Okta. If you submitted a 2021 survey through the Okta application, please use the same credentials from last year.
For additional help with user log in (create your account, reset your password, unlock your account, update your user profile and set up Multi-Factor Authentication) please visit: Okta User Guide

Logging into TWDB Okta application

  1. Click on the Online Registration and Survey to go to the TWDB Okta application management system. There is an option to sign into an existing account or to create a new Okta account. Please see a quick login guide sheet for further instructions.
  2. Registered Users - If you have previously registered with the TWDB website for an online application (water loss audit or water use survey), you can enter the Username and Password. Upon successful login, a list of TWDB applications, including the Water Use Survey, will be displayed.
    • Please note that the online application does not allow users to use the same account and login information for more than one person. Once an individual's name is associated with an email address at registration, the individual's name cannot be changed to someone else at a later date. Therefore, it is not possible to re-use another user's login information and their associated email. If an email address is already used by another person, a new user registration will need to be established using a different email address.
  3. New Users - If this is your first time to the TWDB Application page, please click on Sign up at the bottom of the application page. For guidance, refer to the first video at the bottom of this page.
    • If you previously had access to any surveys, please make sure to use the same email address used with your old account to set up your new account to maintain access to those surveys .

Completing the surveys

  1. Once logged in to Okta, you will be able to access various agency programs using the TWDB Program Management System. Select the LUC tile to go to the Water Loss, Use and Conservation (WLUC) page.
  2. At the top of the page, select the Water Use Survey tab. Once on the Survey List page, you should see the system(s) listed that you have access to.
  3. If your registered email is the same contact email that is currently in the Water Use Survey database, you will see the system or facilities you have access to. Click on the underlined name to enter the Survey.
  4. If you do not see the system or facility you need, you may send a request to Water Use Survey staff using the Request Access to Surveys link at the top left corner of the Survey List page. Generally, the requests will be approved within an hour, but may take up to one business day. After approval, you will see the system/facility name in the list.
  5. Once approved, you can select the system or facility which will take you to a set of overall online survey instructions that can be printed or downloaded as a pdf.
