FMA Swift Current (FMASC)

Flood Mitigation Assistance Swift Current Program (FMASC) - Federal Funding for Presidentially declared Flood-related disaster - $40 Million in funding for SPRING STORMS 2024 DR-4781-TX AND FOR HURRICANE BERYL DR-4798-TX

FMA Swift Current (FMASC) is a relatively new FMA program that provides grant funding to support individual property mitigation for states and communities affected by a presidentially declared disaster. Texas has had two presidentially declared disasters in 2024. As such , FEMA has allocated $40M of FMA Swift Current funding to Texas for the spring storms, DR-4781-TX and another $40M for Hurricane Beryl, DR-4798-TX. TWDB will be working with affected communities to develop grant applications responsive to the available funding.

Further, TWDB recently allocated funds from the Flood Infrastructure Fund (FIF) to support community local match requirements (Board Agenda #10) associated with this grant program.

Additional information on FMA Swift Current can be found here.

Additional supporting information will be provided on TWDB's website soon.
