Submitted Drillers Reports (SDR) Database Reports and Downloads

Licensed Water Well Drillers and Pump Installers looking to access the Texas Well Report Submission and Retrieval System (TWRSRS) for entering well or plugging reports, please review the guide.

Link has been removed from the bottom of this page as of 5/12/2023.

The Submitted Drillers Report (SDR) Database is populated from the online Texas Well Report Submission and Retrieval System (TWRSRS) which is a cooperative Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) application that registered water-well drillers use to submit their required reports. This system was started 2/5/2001 and began collecting all reports in 2003.

Reports that drillers submitted by mail before the creation of the SDR database are not included, but are available for access at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Well Report Viewer. Click here for instructions on how to locate a well report on the TCEQ Water Well Report Viewer.

Reports are designed to view a select set of information in the SDR database, not for viewing all records in the database. Reports allow the user to select or enter certain information to obtain well records for that specific criteria. There is an option to export the reports to several different formats.

For more information on how to navigate the groundwater reports, download the Explanation of the toolbar.

To download the entire SDR database or a shapefile of well locations, go to the Downloads section below.

Well Reports Search by Map or Tracking Number
The TWDB Water Data Interactive (WDI) Groundwater Data Viewer contains well records for sites in both the SDR database and the Groundwater Database (GWDB). The default display from the link above is just for well reports in the SDR database. Click "Groundwater" at the top of the page to view other groundwater data, including plugging reports, GWDB well information, and digital well logs from the BRACS (Brackish Resources Aquifer Characterization System) Database. Several base maps and layers, along with interactive tools, allow for viewing and downloading Texas groundwater data.
