Southern portion of the Carrizo-Wilcox AquiferGroundwater Availability Model (GAM)This map shows the extent and location of the southern portion of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer Groundwater Availability Model.

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) contracted with Intera, Inc., formerly Duke Engineering and Services (who was teamed with Parsons Engineering Science, Inc., Waterstone Environmental Hydrology and Engineering, Inc., Freese and Nichols, Inc., and several individual experts) to develop a model of the southern part of the Carrizo-Wilcox aquifer in Texas. A final report and model were delivered in 2003.

This groundwater availabiltiy model has been superseded by the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Model, which includes the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer. However, model users interested in details about the development of the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer Groundwater Availability Model should still refer to the groundwater availabiltiy model report listed below.

Model Files

The Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer Groundwater Availability Models (all three portions) have been incorporated into the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Models. See the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Models web page for model files.

Model Grid

Model grid cells are geographically assigned to counties, groundwater conservation districts, river basins, groundwater management areas, and regional water planning areas within the model study area using a centroid based approach. The model grid is available in ESRI® shapefile format and comma-delimited text file.

See the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Models page for the model grid.

Aquifer Data

The Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer Groundwater Availability Models (all three portions) have been incorporated into the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Models. See the Carrizo-Wilcox, Queen City, Sparta Aquifers Groundwater Availability Models page for aquifer data.
