Identification of Potential Brackish Groundwater Production Areas – Blaine Aquifer

Project Summary:

The study will involve the collection and mapping of existing water quality information and identification of candidate well logs to supplement water quality delineation within the aquifer. For selected well logs digital images will be acquired and entered into the BRACS database, and the logs will be analyzed to estimate water quality. The resulting combined dataset will be used to (1) delineate fresh, brackish, and saline groundwater, (2) calculate these volumes, (3) identify Potential Production Areas, and (4) create a model of the Potential Production Areas over 30-and-50 year periods without having significant impact on the Blaine Aquifer.
