Phillips Petroleum Reservoir (Colorado River Basin)
Phillips Petroleum Reservoir (also known as San Bernard Lakes 1, 2 and 3) is consisted of 3 individual lakes near Old Ocean in Brazoria County, TX. It is an Off-channel reservoir beside San Bernard River and filled by pumping from the river. The reservoir is owned and operated by Phillips 66 Company (former Phillips Petroleum Company) for industrial (oil refinery) purpose. Reservoirs are completed in different times (1957 for #1, 1964 for #2 and 1980 for #3). Per Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Permit (#13-3423) document, the total reservoir capacity for these reservoirs is 8,610 acre-feet. The reservoir has no catchment area. However, the catchment area upstream of the pumping station/pond on San Bernard River, is approximately 880 square miles.
