Texas Water Development Board approves $3,050,000 in financial assistance to the City of Castroville (Medina County) for wastewater treatment plant improvements

AUSTIN – (March 26, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $3,050,000 from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Castroville (Medina County). The City will be able to finance construction costs associated with wastewater treatment plant improvements.
The City could save approximately $805,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
The City will construct a lift station and approximately 2.6 miles of force main with the assistance approved today. The improvements will allow the City to deliver wastewater from the East Side Sanitary Sewer Area to the City’s wastewater treatment plant.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
