Texas Water Development Board approves $447,000 in financial assistance to the Silver Creek Village Water Supply Corporation (Burnet County) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (January 29, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution loan forgiveness in the amount of $447,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Silver Creek Village Water Supply Corporation (Burnet County). The financial assistance will fund the planning, design and construction for water system improvements.
This is an urgent needs project in response to the ongoing drought. The Corporation will install a media-based filtration system with the assistance approved today.
With the assistance approved today, the Authority will be able to provide first-time sewer service to approximately 105 connections within the Angelina Fresh Water Supply District No. 1’s service area, including the Redland Estates subdivision and additional homes along the proposed sewer line route.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
