AUSTIN – (January 8, 2015) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $4,996,250, consisting of a $1,820,000 loan and $3,176,250 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the Angelina & Neches River Authority (Angelina County). The assistance will allow the Authority to finance construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.

The Authority could save approximately $4,379,000 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

With the assistance approved today, the Authority will be able to provide first-time sewer service to approximately 105 connections within the Angelina Fresh Water Supply District No. 1’s service area, including the Redland Estates subdivision and additional homes along the proposed sewer line route.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
