Texas Water Development Board approves $476,112 in financial assistance to the Beaver Creek Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Burleson County) for a new water system

AUSTIN - (September 4, 2014) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a grant in the amount of $476,112 from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to the Beaver Creek Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Burleson County). The assistance will allow the District to design a new rural community water supply system.
The new water supply system will service 872 people and add more than 300 water connections in Burleson County. The proposed project will include two water wells, groundwater treatment facilities, ground storage tanks, and other necessary infrastructure.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
