Texas Water Development Board approves a $26,370,000 loan to the San Antonio Water System (Bexar County) to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (July 18, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $26,370,000 to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS), acting on the behalf of the City of San Antonio (Bexar County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

SAWS intends to use the funds to rehabilitate the Nacogdoches and Basin Pump Stations. The funds will also be used for a new 7.5-MG storage tank at the Nacogdoches Pump Station.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
