Texas Water Development Board approves a $2,100,296 loan to the City of Goldthwaite to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 31, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution the amount of $2,100,296 to the City of Goldthwaite (Mills County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $1,480,000 and $620,296 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The City of Goldthwaite intends to use the funds to construct approximately 70,700 linear feet of raw water line and a water intake structure to convey untreated water purchased from the City of San Saba to the city’s existing raw water transmission infrastructure.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
