Texas Water Development Board approves $1,193,461 in financial assistance to the City of Breckenridge to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (October 17, 2012) The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution the amount of $1,193,461 to the City of Breckenridge (Stephens County) consisting of an $840,000 loan and $353,461 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.

The City of Breckenridge intends to use the funds to construct a secondary clarifier and a sludge digester as well as improvements to other process components.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
