Texas Water Development Board approves a $3,000,000 loan to the City of Marlin to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (June 21, 2012) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $3,000,000 to the City of Marlin (Falls County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.

The City of Marlin intends to use the funds to conduct a sanitary sewer evaluation study and to address excessive inflow/infiltration and pipe failures within the sanitary sewer collection system, along with failing, unreliable lift stations throughout the City.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
