Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,495,000 loan to the City of Eldorado to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (April 19, 2012) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,495,000 from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Eldorado (Schleicher County) to finance water system improvements.

The City of Eldorado intends to install approximately 7,200 feet of 6-inch water distribution line to address both pressure and operational issues within the system. The City also intends to install a new elevated storage tank to address capacity issues and low-pressure issues within the existing City service area.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
