AUSTIN - (June 22, 2011) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a $2,000,000 loan from the Rural Water Assistance Fund to the Moffat Water Supply Corporation (Bell County) to finance water system improvements.
Recent and anticipated growth in the Moffat Water Supply Corporation’s (Corporation) service area has exposed deficiencies in production capacity and pressure maintenance. The Corporation proposes to use these funds to construct a water well, replace water lines in areas with known pressure problems, improve pressure maintenance and storage facilities and install backup generators at several sites.
The Corporation is located in Bell County, approximately five miles northwest of the City of Temple. It currently serves 1,432 water connections.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
