Texas Water Development Board elects Crutcher Vice Chairman

AUSTIN - (May 3, 2011) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today elected Joe Crutcher of Palestine vice chairman of the Board.

Crutcher is co-chairman of East Texas National Bank and has served as an appointee to the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority since 1995. Additionally, he is a past city council member for the City of Palestine. Crutcher attended the University of Houston. He was appointed to the Board and to the Environmental Flows Advisory Group by Governor Rick Perry in February 2008. Crutcher replaces former Board vice chairman Jack Hunt.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
