AUSTIN – (October 30, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $31,935,000, consisting of a $24,550,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and a $7,385,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF), to the City of Terrell (Kaufman County). The financial assistance will allow the City to finance water and wastewater system improvements.
The City could save approximately $7,063,000 over the life of the loan by using the CWSRF and DWSRF programs.
The $24,550,000 loan provided by the CWSRF will allow the City to finance acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.
With the $7,385,000 loan from the DWSRF, the City will be able to finance construction of a new 1.5-million-gallon storage tank and associated piping, water line replacement, and utility relocations.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
