Texas Water Development Board approves $2,800,000 in financial assistance to the El Paso Utilities Public Service Board on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County) for a wastewater system project in the Montana Vista area

AUSTIN – (December 1, 2015) –┬áThe Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of a $2,800,000 grant from the Economically Distressed Areas Program (EDAP) to the El Paso Utilities Public Service Board on behalf of the City of El Paso (El Paso County).┬áThe assistance will finance planning and design costs associated with a wastewater system project.

When complete, the project will provide first-time wastewater service to approximately 2,400 connections in the Montana Vista area.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
