Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,040,000 loan to the City of Roscoe (Nolan County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (September 19, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,040,000 to the City of Roscoe (Nolan County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.

The City of Roscoe intends to use the funds to replace severely dilapidated clay tile sewer lines that were constructed in the 1940s. These lines have experienced numberous failures, leaks, collapses and blockages.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
