AUSTIN - (September 22, 2011) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a $4,430,000 loan from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Caddo Mills (Hunt County) to finance wastewater system improvements.

With these funds, the City of Caddo Mills (City) will improve its wastewater collection system through an extension of gravity mains eastward to IH-30 along FM 36, FM 1903 and FM 1565. The project will provide wastewater service to un-served areas within the City’s Certificate of Convenience and Necessity, and eliminate the need for individual onsite sewage facilities.

The City is located in northwestern Hunt County on state highway 66. It has an estimated population of 1,338, and provides service to 490 water and 465 wastewater connections.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
