Texas Water Development Board approves $310,000 loan to the North San Saba Water Supply Corporation to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (June 22, 2011) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a $310,000 loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the North San Saba Water Supply Corporation (San Saba County) to finance the planning, acquisition and design of water system improvements.

The North San Saba Water Supply Corporation (Corporation) proposes to use these funds to plan and design improvements to correct deficiencies in its aging water system. Future improvements will include a pump station, new transmission line and replacement valves to reduce water loss.

The Corporation is located approximately eight miles northwest of Lampasas in San Saba County. It has an estimated population of approximately 909 and provides service to 294 water connections.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
