Texas Water Development Board announces the 2018 Texas Rain Catcher Award recipients

AUSTIN – (March 28, 2019) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) announced today the recipients of its annual Texas Rain Catcher Award, a rainwater harvesting competition and recognition program. The award recipients have displayed excellence in rainwater harvesting in Texas in three categories: commercial/industrial, educational/governmental, and residential. The 2018 Texas Rain Catcher Award winners are:
- FirstBank Southwest Amarillo for its rainwater harvesting system and parking lot collection system
- The Do/Peters-Do residence for its water supply rainwater harvesting project
- Upper Guadalupe River Authority’s EduScape rainwater harvesting system and landscaping at its Guadalupe Basin Natural Resources Center
- Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex for its rainwater harvesting vehicle wash operation

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
