Texas Water Development Board approves $5,157,075 in financial assistance to the City of West (McLennan County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (October 17, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $5,157,075 to the City of West (McLennan County) consisting of a $3,460,000 loan and $1,697,075 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
The City of West intends to use the funds to finance the expansion of a wastewater treatment plant and rehabilitation of the collection system to reduce inflow and infiltration.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
