Texas Water Development Board approves a $401,500 loan to the City of Buda (Hays County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (April 18, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $401,500 to the City of Buda (Hays County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $125,000 and $276,500 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.

The City of Buda intends to use the funds to remove approximately 263 existing on-site sewage facilities from service by connecting affected dwellings to a centralized sewage collection system.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
