Texas Water Development Board approves a $160,000 loan to the City of De Leon to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 31, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution the amount of $160,000 to the City of De Leon (Comanche County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $80,000 and $80,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
The City of De Leon intends to use the funds to plan and design the replacement of approximately 17,600 feet of deteriorating cast iron pipeline.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
