News Release | Austin - December 6, 2012 The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $20,926,336 as follows:

- Loan in the amount of $375,000 to the City of Castroville (Medina County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance sewer system improvements.
- Loans in the amount of $562,788 to the City of Mount Vernon (Franklin County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $525,000 and $37,788 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
- Loan in the amount of $500,000 to the Orange County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Orange County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
- Loans in the amount of $227,500 to the City of West Tawakoni (Hunt County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $115,000 and $112,500 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
- Loans in the amount of $6,493,865 to the Bistone Municipal Water Supply District (Limestone County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $6,130,000 and $363,865 in loan forgivness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
- Loan in the amount of $350,000 to the City of Castroville (Medina County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
- Loans in the amount of $8,756,308 to the City of San Juan (Hidalgo County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $6,170,000 and $2,586,308 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
- Loans in the amount of $2,995,875 to the Union Water Supply Corporation (Starr County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $1,665,000 and $1,330,875 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.
- Loan in the amount of $575,000 to the Baylor Water Supply Corporation (Baylor County) from the Rural Water Assistance Fund to finance water system improvements.
- Grant in the amount of $90,000 to the City of Silverton (Briscoe County) from the Economically Distressed Areas Program to finance water system improvements.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the State Water Plan for the development of the state's water resources. TWDB administers cost-effective financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
