Water Use Survey
The Texas Water Development Board Water Uses Unit operates an annual survey of ground and surface water use by municipal and industrial entities within the state of Texas. This survey collects the volume of both ground and surface water used, the source of the water, water sales and other pertinent data from the users. These data will provide an important source of information in helping guide water supply studies and regional and state water planning.
The usefulness of the Board's water planning activities are dependent upon the accuracy and completeness of the information water users provide. We feel this is an important effort due to the limited water supplies and facilities in some areas, and continuing population growth.
