Sulphur Draw Reservoir (Colorado River Basin)

Sulphur Draw Reservoir (also known as Sulphur Spring Draw Reservoir or Sulphur Draw Storage Reservoir) is located about fourteen miles northeast of Stanton in Martin County, on Sulphur Draw upstream above Natural Dam Lake, a tributary of Beals Creek which is a tributary of the Colorado River.  The reservoir is owned and operated by the Colorado River Municipal Water District for flood control, water quality improvement and industrial purposes.  The dam was completed by Central Plains Contracting in 1993.  The dam is an earthfill embankment of approximately 7,113 feet long.  It has a maximum capacity of 7,997 acre-feet encompassing a surface area of about 970 acres at the conservation pool elevation of 2,541 feet above mean sea level.  Drainage area above the dam is unknown.
