Texas Water Development Board approves $438,000 to the Hardin County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Hardin County) for a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project

AUSTIN – (December 13, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $438,000 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Hardin County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (Hardin County). The District will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project.
The District’s wastewater system was damaged during Hurricane Harvey. With the assistance provided today, the District will replace electrical control panels and restore its wastewater system.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
