AUSTIN – (January 11, 2018) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $1.2 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the City of Eldorado (Schleicher County). The City will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.
The City could save approximately $169,000 over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
The City will construct a 100,000-gallon elevated storage tank with the assistance approved today. In addition, the City will install approximately 3,200 linear feet of pipeline and a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The SCADA system will allow the City to monitor and control its wells, pumps, and storage tanks. When complete, the project will help improve circulation and service pressure for existing City customers.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
