Texas Water Development Board approves $15 million to the Crystal Clear Special Utility District (Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties) for water system improvements

AUSTIN – (May 4, 2017) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $15 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the Crystal Clear Special Utility District (Comal, Guadalupe, and Hays counties). The assistance will finance planning, acquisition, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.
The District could save approximately $2.3 million over the life of the loan by using the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
The District will be able to complete 11 projects aimed at improving the District’s water system with the assistance approved today. Projects will include improvements to ground and elevated storage tanks, as well as to the water treatment plant and distribution system.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
