Texas Water Development Board approves $46,000,000 to the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (Fannin, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, and Wise counties) for wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN – (January 19, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $46,000,000 from the Texas Water Development Fund to the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (Fannin, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, and Wise counties). The District will be able to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements.
The District will be able to expand the Riverbend Water Reclamation Plant with the assistance approved today. The expansion will increase the facility’s treatment capacity from 2 million gallons per day to 4 million gallons per day.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
