AUSTIN – (January 19, 2016) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved financial assistance totaling $50,402,442 for a water supply project and two wastewater system improvement projects. Of this funding, $4,402,442 was designated for rural water projects.
- $2,345,000 to the City of Strawn (Eastland, Erath, and Palo Pinto counties) for a water supply project
- $46,000,000 to the Upper Trinity Regional Water District (Fannin, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Grayson, and Wise counties) for wastewater system improvements
- $2,057,442 to the Sequoia Improvement District (Harris County) for wastewater system improvements
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
