AUSTIN – (November 6, 2014) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $2,712,466, consisting of a $1,370,000 loan and $1,342,466 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, to the City of Kirbyville (Jasper County). The assistance will finance planning, design, and construction costs associated with improvements to the City’s collection system and wastewater treatment plant.

Kirbyville could save approximately $2,285,814 over the life of the loan by using the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

The project will allow the City to rehabilitate or replace wastewater collection lines, manholes, and lift stations. In addition, the City will be able to rehabilitate the existing wastewater treatment plant by replacing various pumps, piping, and electrical components.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
