Texas Water Development Board approves a $4,300,000 loan to the San Antonio River Authority (Bexar, Wilson, Karnes, and Goliad Counties) to finance planning costs

AUSTIN - (July 18, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $4,300,000 to the San Antonio River Authority (Bexar, Wilson, Karnes, and Goliad Counties) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance planning costs.

The San Antonio River Authority intends to use the funds to develop a watershed master plan for Karnes and Goliad Counties and to conduct a nutrient study in Bexar County.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
