Texas Water Development Board approves a $60,100,000 loan to the San Antonio Water System, acting on the behalf of the City of San Antonio (Bexar County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (July 18, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $60,100,000 to the San Antonio Water System (SAWS), acting on the behalf of the City of San Antonio (Bexar County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.

SAWS intends to use the funds for rehabilitation of sanitary sewer and interceptor lines within its system and also to replace a portion of the sanitary sewer main.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
