Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,500,000 loan to the Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Bell County) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (June 20, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,500,000 to the Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 (Bell County) from the Texas Water Development Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
The Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 2 intends to use the funds to replace its existing Academy Wastewater Treatment Plant with a new one.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
