Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,350,000 loan to the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 50 (Harris County) to finance water and wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (May 16, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,350,000 to the Harris County Municipal Utility District (Harris County) from the Texas Water Development Fund to finance water and wastewater system improvements.
The Harris County Municipal Utility District intends to use the funds to address issues with its wastewater treatment plant and for improvements, which are currently under construction.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
