Texas Water Development Board approves a $2,110,000 loan to the White River Municipal Water District (Crosby, Dickens and Garza Counties) to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (February 28, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $2,110,000 to the White River Municipal Water District (Crosby, Dickens and Garza Counties) consisting of a loan in the amount of $1,055,000 and $1,055,000 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The White River Municipal Water District intends to use the funds to improve its sustainable water supplies, treatment, storage and distribution systems to meet the needs of the district's citizens now and in the future.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
