Texas Water Development Board approves a $2,079,431 loan to the City of Grand Prairie (Dallas, Ellis and Tarrant Counties) to finance wastewater system improvements

AUSTIN - (February 28, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $2,079,431 to the City of Grand Prairie (Dallas, Ellis and Tarrant Counties) consisting of a loan in the amount of $1,805,000 and $274,431 in loan forgiveness from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance wastewater system improvements.
The City of Grand Prairie intends to use the funds to replace 10 old and deteriorated gravity pipeline segments owned by the city.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
