Texas Water Development Board approves a $61,200 grant to the Edom Water Supply Corporation (Van Zandt County) to finance the preparation of a water facility plan

AUSTIN - (February 28, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a grant in the amount of $61,200 to the Edom Water Supply Corporation (Van Zandt County) from the Economically Distressed Area Program-Research and Planning Fund to finance the preparation of a water facility plan.
The Edom Water Supply Corporation water distribution systen is failing to maintain adequate pressure; the funds will be used to conduct planning studies of the water distribution system.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
