Texas Water Development Board approves a $1,310,000 loan to the City of Amarillo (Potter and Randall Counties) to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (February 28, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $1,310,000 to the City of Amarillo (Potter and Randall Counties) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The City of Amarillo intends to use the funds to install a new transfer pipeline to provide a cross-town supply of potable water from the City's Osage Water Treatment Plant to the Arden Road Pump Station.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
