Texas Water Development Board approves a $200,000 loan to the City of Carbon to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (January 31, 2013) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $200,000 to the City of Carbon (Eastland County) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The City of Carbon intends to use the funds to replace an existing old and deteriorated water line along State Highway 6 and to install two water well sites to provide a second source of water to the city.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
