Texas Water Development Board approves $375,000 in financial assistance to the City of Castroville to finance sewer system improvements

AUSTIN – (December 6, 2012) – The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $375,000 to the City of Castroville (Medina County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance sewer system improvements.
The City of Castroville intends to use the funds for the construction of a lift station to deliver flow from the East Side Sanitary Sewer Area to the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
