Texas Water Development Board approves $6,493,865 in financial assistance to the Bistone Municipal Water Supply District to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN (December 6, 2012) The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution the amount of $6,493,865 to the Bistone Municipal Water Supply District (Limestone County) consisting of a loan in the amount of $6,130,000 and $363,865 in loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The Bistone Municipal Water Supply District intends to use the funds for various improvements and upgrades at the groundwater treatment plant, including construction of a 500,000-gallon detention tank.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
