Texas Water Development Board approves $575,000 in financial assistance to the Baylor Water Supply Corporation to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN (December 6, 2012) The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $575,000 to the Baylor Water Supply Corporation (Baylor County) from the Rural Water Assistance Fund to finance water system improvements.

The Baylor Water Supply Corporation intends to use the funds to secure a supplemental water source by purchasing treated water from the North Central Texas Municipal Water Authority.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
