AUSTIN - (October 17, 2012) – Texas Water Development Board Chairman Billy R. Bradford Jr. will be speaking October 30, 2012, at the annual meeting of Soil and Water Conservation District Directors of the Texas State Soil & Water Conservation Board.
Bradford's address is titled "Water Development in Texas: Implementing the State Water Plan." He will include a look at drought, the history of Texas water policy and implementation of the 2012 State Water Plan.
This is the 72nd annual meeting of the Soil and Water Conservation District Directors, which will examine issues relevant to the conservation of the state's natural resources. Local, state and national speakers will address a variety of agricultural and conservation topics. The meeting will be held October 29–31, 2012, at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, near Bastrop, Texas.
The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
