Texas Water Development Board approves a $3,930,000 loan to the City of Springtown to finance water system improvements

AUSTIN - (April 19, 2012) - The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution a loan in the amount of $3,930,000 to the City of Springtown (Parker County) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to finance water system improvements.

The City of Springtown plans to make major improvements to its wastewater treatment plant in order to meet effluent requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state’s water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
